Auditions Frankenstein 1930!
AUDITIONS for “Frankenstein 1930” by Fred Carmichael
The classic horror story – brought to life by the creative team from QP’s 2011 “Woman in Black” – so expect dark, creepy and lot of special effects!
Directed by Kimberly Fanning.
Auditions: Sunday 10/27 and Monday 10/28 at 7pm at QP Playhouse
Production Dates: January 24, 25, 31 and February 1, 2, 7 & 8, 2014
Special Performance: Thursday 11 AM January 30
Auditions will consist of readings from the script and some improv work. Short monologs are welcomed but not necessary. Please contact Kimberly Fanning at email@example.com with any questions.
Victor Frankenstein (25-40) A brilliant scientist. He tends to be excitable and extremely nervous when under strain.
Gorgo (age flexible) A small, local peasant. Assistant to Victor; He has been shunned most of his life due to the fact that he is slightly hunched and one leg shorter than the other.
The Creature (age flexible) Tall, actor must be able to wear latex. He expresses his feelings mostly with his hands, moves slowly and awkwardly, “speaks” only with moans, grunts, and shrieks.
Elizabeth (25-40) A lovely proper woman, bright and happy but with definite strength within her. She loves and is engaged to Victor, but has feelings for Henry.
Henry Lovitz (25 – 40) A handsome pleasant man, madly in love with Elizabeth, willing to protect her at all cost. Childhood friend of Victor and Elizabeth.
Dr. Hellstrom (50-70’s) Victor’s mentor and main criticizer, he is a kindly looking man, but has a very authoritative presence.
Aunt Frederica (50 – 70’s) Current head of Dr. Frankenstein’s household. She is a warm and loving motherly type of woman.
Berta (18 – 25) A young, local girl, who is delighted to be working in the Manor house, does her best to please but she is a trifle over-anxious.
Mother/Jalna (40-60’s) Double Casting Possible – Mother, grieving peasant. Jalna, townsperson who spots the creature and is terrified.
Daughter (15-20’s) Daughter of grieving peasant Mother, trying to console her Mother. Double Casting Possible with Maria
Maria (8-12) Plays ‘jacks’ with the creature, and ends up being one of his victims. Double Casting Possible with Daughter
Korda (30-50’s) Father to Maria, finds her corpse, grieving father.
Horst/Grave Digger (30-60’s) Grave Digger – peasant, unsophisticated. Horst – local villager.
Second Man/Grave Digger (30-60’s) Grave Digger – peasant, unsophisticated. Second Man – local villager.
