Auditions for our next three productions Suburban Holidays IV; Almost, Maine and A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be held together. You can audition for one, two or all productions!
Suburban Holidays: The first weekend (Sunday 4th and Monday 5th) will concentrate on Suburban Holiday IV. There will be some scenes from Almost, Maine and Midsummer as well, but we will concentrate on those shows on the second weekend of auditions. Almost, Maine: Nine skits featuring couples in many different forms. Roles will be doubled so each actor will be cast in at least two roles each. In addition actors will continue or recap the themes and stories of Almost, Maine through traditional (and some non-traditional) puppetry techniques such as shadow puppets, marionettes and hand puppets. A Midsummer Night’s Dream: (12-13 M, 6-7 F – may double roles) Puck the story teller; Theseus/Oberon, Hippolyta/Titania the duke and his conquest/fairy king and queen; Egeus the ‘wronged’ father; the lovers Lysander, Demetrius, Helena and Hermia; the ‘mechanicals’ Nick Bottom, Peter Quince, Francis Flute, Robin Starveling, Tom Snout, and Snug; Philostrate master of the revels/wedding for Thesus and Hippolyta; and the fairies -Peaseblossem, Cobweb, Mote and Mustard Seed. Also looking for magicians to entertain the audience as they come into the playhouse in preparation for the wedding entertainment! The show’s theme – do you believe in magic!
