QP 2012-13 DASH Winners
The EMACT 2013 DASH GALA was a fun night. If you were not one of the 400ish folks who attended last week’s festivities or not a FACEBOOK stalker you may have missed who won what for QP, so wanted to let you know and officially congratulate all the players who were nominated and who won from QP productions last season! And to paraphrase a friend’s comment at the presentations – we need to give a big thank you to everyone who helped the folks get these nominations – because none of us do this alone!
If you didn’t go to the DASH Gala you also missed Gordon Ellis’s swan song as the DASH and GALA coordinator extraordinaire, as well as Margaret McCarty and Tom Berry with their puppets and acerbic wit, who regaled us as masters of ceremony of the event! Very well done Gordon, Margaret, Tom with thanks to all the folks who were there at noon like Bruce to set up and those who stayed to midnight to strike!
And the QP Production Winners are …
BEST LEAD ACTRESS (PLAY) Sponsored by QP which is nice!
Barbara Douglass in Plaza Suite (Quannapowitt Players) WINNER! And Barbara is back this season as Becky in Becky’s New Car!
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (PLAY)
Eric Lamarche in Duck Hunter Shoots Angel (Quannapowitt Players) WINNER!
Eric shared the honor of Best Supporting Actor with Jordan DiGloria in American Buffalo (Acme Theater Productions). Jordan is playing Clifford Anderson in our soon to open Deathtrap!
BEST MAKE-UP AND HAIR DESIGN (PLAY)
Marc Capizzi & Phyllis Uloth for Plaza Suite (Quannapowitt Players) WINNER!
I think Marc is also the winner of unofficial ‘get everyone’s hair looking great for the DASH GALA’ award as well – right Margaret!?
You can check out all the nominees and winners at http://www.emact.org/events/2013_dash_nominees_and_winners.asp but I wanted to share that Emily Sheeran who was nominated three times for Best Youth Actress with QP, Footlight and Hovey, won for her role in The Woodsman (Hovey Players). And Nicole Sparks who designed sound for Duck Hunter and now Deathtrap won Best Sound Design for Dead Man’s Cell Phone (Hovey Players). It is really wonderful to be able to play in this community of theater folks who share their talents on so many productions and theaters!
