Production dates are SEPTEMBER 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 2012
Nick is in his late 20 to mid 30’s. Nice looking young man from next door. Has is a bit sarcastic, funny, hardworking, which gets in the way of him being happy. Loves his grandparents deeply but communicates with them through benign bickering. It is never mean.
Aida is the rock Frank sits on. She is a very simple loving woman who has life has been about her husband & family. She is a homemaker/housewife & a bit of a worrier.
Frank is very proud of where he has come from, is a former carpenter. He is fighting getting older & does not want to give up his independence. He loves his family but does not know why they have moved so far away. He can play a mandolin.
Emma is Nunzio’s wife, a little bit more modern than Aida. She has a sense of herself and is not afraid to share her opinion. She loves Nunzio deeply. She can be a bit of a spitfire.
Nunzio is Emma’s husband. He is deeply in love with Emma and he is a great story teller.
Catlin is in her mid 20’s. She is attractive and charming. She is a not one to settle for less. She is a bit old fashioned & stands up for what she believes in.
Auditions will be from the script. If you have any questions please contact John Pease after June 18th when he returns from vacation. The rehearsal schedule will be determined after John casts the show. He always tries to schedule around cast conflicts. Rehearsals will start the week of July 9th.
Nick’s grandparents all come from a time when the world was in turmoil. All emigrated from Italy when they were young and they were very poor. This gives them the drive to become successful and give their children a better life then they had. They should be in their 70’s, but will cast actors who are younger that can play older. Aida, Frank, Emma and Nunzio are Nick’s grandparents. All are devoted to their spouses. Divorce was never a word they knew. All four of them are very close, since they have gone through it all together.
