Adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the movie of Alfred Hitchcock!
Audition Dates: December 11 and 12 @ 7pm at QP
A celebration of Hitchcock, film noir and the magic of theater!
What we’re looking for at auditions:
These roles are physically demanding and require deep collaboration among all production elements. We will work HARD but also have FUN!
Auditions will consist of readings from the script and some movement.
RICHARD HANNAY (the hero) Age range 30 – 45; The hero and main protagonist. Emblematic of the 1930s leading man: dashing, charming, confident and charismatic. A fairly typical English gentleman thrown into a very atypical crisis situation. Dialect spoken: British accent.
THE WOMAN (Annabella Schmidt/Pamela/Margaret) Age range 25-40; Plays 3 stock female characters: an exotic secret agent, a shy and sheltered young Scottish farmer’s wife, and the spunky independent heroine. Dialects spoken: German, Scottish and British.
CLOWN #1 and #2 (various characters, gender neutral) Age range 30-50; Combined these characters play over 150 other characters throughout the show. These roles are extremely physically demanding and require actors who are versatile, creative, and playful with excellent verbal and physical comic timing. Clowns will work very closely as a unit. Dialects spoken: upper class British, British Cockney, Scottish, German.
