Roles

LONNIE, the sexy one: mid to late 40's, alto
CONNIE, the “good-housekeeping approved” one: late30's/early 40's, mezzo
BONNIE, the kooky but adorable one: early to mid 30's, mezzo
ABIGAIL, the 'sweet 16' one: Late teens to mid 20's, pop-soprano

What to Prepare

Women auditioning for the show (we are only considering women for these roles) should prepare 16 bars of 2 contrasting songs, preferably an up tune and a ballad. Song choices should be from, or evocative of, female pop tunes of the 1950's or early 1960's.

Rehearsals

There will be a read-through soon after the show is cast. Rehearsals, however, will begin in earnest mid-September at the QP Playhouse

Performance Dates

Dates are November 19, 20, 26, 27, 28 and December 3, 4, 2010 with strong possibility of extending performances to December 11 & 12 at the QP Playhouse

* Please note that Thanksgiving is November 25, 2010 and falls in the middle of the run but is not a performance night. Chanukah which is Dec 1-9, 2010 does have some performance overlap.

About The Show

The Paisley Sisters' Christmas Special (The "All New" 1964 Musical Comedy) is a hip and heartwarming holiday musical being presented by the Quannapowitt Players in November and December of 2010. The Paisley Sisters (Ronnie, Lonnie, Connie, and Bonnie) are a fabulous sister act from the Fifties/early Sixties akin to the Lennon Sisters or the McGuire Sisters.

The plot of this musical farce is set during the broadcast of their first live 1964 Christmas television special. The action alternates between the TV show itself and the dressing room, where three of the sisters and their niece (Abigail) try to unravel a mystery concerning their hospitalized sister Ronnie, and their corporate sponsor PLASTICON.

The production showcases the musical and comedic abilities of the entire cast. Each of the women has at least one solo number, and there are plenty of opportunities for ensemble (including tight harmony) singing. Some basic choreographed movement is also involved.
